5. Lawful bases for processing
5.1 Consent
We may rely on consent where you submit an enquiry and ask us to contact you or share your enquiry, opt in to marketing communications, accept non-essential cookies, or provide information for optional AI-assisted features where consent is required. You may withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
5.2 Contract or steps before a contract
We may process information where necessary to provide requested services, respond to enquiries, process listing claims, manage operator accounts, or take steps before entering into a contract.

When relying on legitimate interests, we consider the nature of the information, the reasonable expectations of individuals and businesses, and the impact on rights and freedoms.
5.4 Legal obligation
We may process information where necessary to comply with applicable law, regulatory duties, court orders, tax/accounting duties, dispute resolution obligations or lawful requests.
6. Publicly available business information
Storyard may create unclaimed business listings using publicly available business information. We do this to help users discover storage options and to help storage operators receive relevant enquiries. We take reasonable care to present information fairly, but we do not guarantee that publicly available information is complete, accurate, current or error-free.
If you own or represent a listed business, you may request that we correct inaccurate information, update business details, add or amend pricing, add or amend storage types, remove outdated information, remove or suspend a listing where appropriate, or mark a listing as claimed or verified where our checks are satisfied. Contact us at ukwebsitebusiness@gmail.com.

7.2 With service providers
We may use third-party service providers for website hosting, analytics, email delivery, form processing, security, spam prevention, CRM/lead management, storage and backups, AI-assisted functionality, technical support, and payment processing if paid services are introduced. We only share information reasonably necessary for those services.
7.3 With legal, regulatory or safety parties

7.4 Business transfer
If Storyard, the website, business or assets are sold, merged, transferred or reorganised, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
8. Marketing communications
We will not send direct marketing emails or SMS messages unless we have an appropriate lawful basis to do so. Where you receive marketing communications from us, you can unsubscribe using the instructions in the message or by contacting us. Service messages about enquiries, quote requests, claims, account activity or legal updates are not marketing.

- security logs: up to 12 months, unless needed longer for investigation;
- legal and dispute records: as long as reasonably necessary for legal protection.
We may retain anonymised or aggregated data indefinitely where it no longer identifies a person.
12. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to:
- access your personal information; correct inaccurate information; request deletion;
- object to processing; restrict processing; request data portability;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; complain to a supervisory authority.
